For people who sell 3D prints

You are probably charging too little.

Print Margin works out what a job actually costs you — filament, machine wear, electricity, your time, the prints that fail, postage, and the processing fee — then tells you what to charge to keep a real margin.

The problem

Filament is the cheapest part of the job.

Most sellers price off grams of filament and a gut-feel multiplier. On a typical four-hour print, filament is about 13% of what the job really costs you. Your own time is closer to 70%.

What it counts

Filament and purge waste, machine depreciation per hour, electricity, setup and post-processing time at your rate, consumables, and an allowance for the prints that fail — because a failed print spends real filament and real hours.

What it tells you

True cost per unit, the price you need to charge, your actual margin after the processing fee, and the effective hourly rate you are working for. That last number is usually the uncomfortable one.

What you send the customer

A clean quote with the total, the per-unit price, and shipping folded in if you offer it free. Copy it as text, or export a PDF with your own logo on it.

One honest note: the arithmetic here is not a secret, and you could build it in a spreadsheet. What you are paying for is not having to — and for the profiles, history and branded quotes that make it part of how you sell.

Questions

Before you sign up.

Why do I need an account for the free tier?
Because a usage count kept in your browser is not a count — clearing your history would reset it. The account is what makes 3 free quotes actually mean 3. No card needed.
Does it work for resin?
Yes. Switch the technology toggle and the material presets, printer list, and consumable defaults all change to resin equivalents.
Is my pricing data private?
Your printer costs, rates and quotes are yours. They are not shared, sold, or used to train anything. You can export or delete everything from your account page.
Who made this?
3DPrintingTX, a print shop in Texas. It exists because we needed it for our own quoting and the spreadsheet stopped being good enough.
What if it tells me I'm losing money?
Then it did its job. Do not adjust the inputs until the number looks comfortable — adjust your prices, or turn the job down.
